A few commonly asked questions.
Howare the vans sold?
The tried and tested method is ring 01656 674620 , or email us to ring you ,and we will roughly confirm availability, specification and rough pricing. We take a finance proposal from you there and then, and come back normally within 24 hours with the decision. The next step is for us to confirm exact pricing and exact availability and take a small credit card deposit that is refunded when you take delivery.
Where are your vehicles?
The majority of our vehicles are delivered directly from airfields or theports, and they are UK vehicles. This is simply because it is easier for PreDelivery Inspection, extras etc to be fitted than a normal dealer.
If vans are extremely rare, we can actually source directly from dealers showrooms, whilst still retaining our low payments.
Availability?
We run a "just in time " ordering process. Key stock is pre-ordered in specific colours with specific extras.
We often have impossible to get models with a waiting list in stock all year round.
This isn't always the case, especially if you are a little more specific inwhat you want.
For vehicles that we normally run with these are indicated as"stock". We also have one of the most sophisticated web based solutions that can search the whole of the UK dealers. This can only be done after a deal and finance is agreed which is only fair.
Do you offer a referralScheme?
Yes.£100 for every customer you refer to us who actually takes delivery of the van.Simply ring us with customer details name, mobile etc and we will do the rest.Please let them know we will be ringing.
If you have been referred by "Word of Mouth" this must be declared atyour inital point of contact rather than simply telling us later, to stop our referral scheme from being abused.
What warranty do I get?
Exactly the same as if it was purchased from your local dealer

By placing an order you agree to these conditions
All vehicles are likely to be pre registered a few days or in some cases a few months before you purchase the vehicle. In some cases V5 documents must be retained by us for up to a year in the case of Ford, but on average three months. Naturally a copy of the V5 is available for travel overseas or for registration for exemption from the London Congestion Charge. Technically these are used vehicles but with delivery mileage. Delivery mileage could be up to 1000 miles but is seldom more than literally the compound to your home.
This does not affect your title to the vehicles, nor warranty, nor taking abroad.
If you plan to export the van you need to tell us or you could be spending longer in London than you expected.
We operate a referral scheme of £100 for sold vans
This operates in two ways.
By you providing the name and number of a colleage whom you have informed
that we will be ringing
Or by the third party declaring they have spoken to you at point of inital contact and we simply add this to our system.
We cannot consider claims made later than this to prevent abuse of the system.
All vehicles come taxed and in the unlikely event of a problem please take to your nearest Franchised dealer.

Errors in specifications are bound to happen from time to time. The prospective buyer must carefully check the manufacturers brochure to ensure that Swiss Leasing has not made a mistake. The website is only for convienience and specifications change without warning to us so it is unreasonable for us to be able to check so many vehicles in sufficient time.
Errors can also be made on quotations. Quotations are just that until accepted in writing and signed by an authorised person.
Manufacturers bonuses, can end without warning and such so can all of the offers. We reserve the right to cancel orders where the purchasing or buying terms have changed in this way. In some circumstances the manufacturer can prevent us delivering vehicles.
Manufacturers can end free service offers without warning.

Northern Ireland
All our vans have UK plates. We dont have dealers in Northern Ireland.
All Northern Ireland deliveries will be to a port of your choice in mainland UK where you will need to meet the driver.
Deposits & Cancellations
Swiss Vans is a broker. We carry no stock. All vehicles are purchased as soon as you order it from us, either cash or finance.
Should you pay a deposit and fail finance you will recieve a full refund. If you cancel and we have ordered a vehicle then we will keep whatever deposit that you have left. The deposits are taken to prevent buyers from cancelling as it is so costly. We are B2B brokers aimed at selling vans to commercial business people. As such if you order a vehicle from us beware that B2B sales of vehicles especially bespoke vehicles are totally exempt from distance selling regulations. Put simply if you order a reversing camera from us and change your mind within 14 days no problem return for a full refund. On the other hand if you order a van, and then change your mind a few days later whether it is cost, or changed your mind we will not refund your deposit. In some circumstances you might even end up with a large bill for costs if we have incurred a significant outlay. We treat you fairly and professionally and smooth over many problems we get from working with 4000 dealers in the UK without you even noticing, and in return we dont expect to be lumbered with van just because you changed your mind.
Cancellations that cause undue expense such as a custom order, custom order, alloys, spoilers, leather etc will be incur reasonable cancellation charges, stocking fees etc. This is actioned by our sister company.
If you are a sole trade and take out finance you have the right to cancel this finance within 14 days. Think carefully before cancelling finance as you still owe the balance.
Ordering times
We order more bespoke and custom orders than any van broker in Europe.
We do not manufacture the vans and we have no control over the production line and cannot influence lead times. Typically most vans take 12 weeks to order. In some cases manufacturers can overshoot this by many weeks. We will do our best to keep you informed, and if it reallly is taking too long we will happily look for alternatives. Bear this in mind. If a van is ordered with a lot of specification it will often take at least a month longer than a standard vehicle. This is especially true of Italian and French manufacturers. 18 weeks for a very high specification is not unheard of. We cannot compensate you for your lack of planning and ordering too late. Manufacturers themselves, all of them from time to time experience delays. Bear in mind a typical van is now made from 8,000 components and if one of these run short your van will be late.
LHD
We sell Left Hand Drive vehicles. Free delivery to the UK port of your choice.
Paid for in full at the time of order. Vehicles are registered to us. Any documents we recieve will be shipped to you even abroad. Should you cancel the vehicle would be auctioned or sold to the highest bidder and an amount not exceeding £500 would be deducted for admin and the remainder returned to you.
Warranties
Most of the vans we sell are just a few days old and you generally get a three year guarantee. Should the guarantee be shorter than this we will advise you of this. It always runs from the date of first registration..Your warranty is with the manufacturer in all cases and no warranty should be implied from us.
Where a conversion such as dropside, Luton, Tipper, LPG conversion is done the minimum guarantee you should recieve is 12 months. No guarantee is made from Swiss Vans Ltd and your contract and guarantee is between the manufacturer and converter and yourself.
Should the converter cease trading and your guarantee cease with it we will guarantee the conversion for a period of six months from date of delivery, as per sale of goods act
We know of no converter that operates a nationwide guarantee and more than likely if you wish to claim on a guarantee from a converter you will need to take the vehicle back to them, which could involve a drive in some cases of several hundred miles. This is at your own cost.
For example from 2011 a LPG van conversion that required warranty work would have to be returned to Cardiff should work be necessary.
No way round it unfortunately as the volumes of these products are too small to warrant a dealer network. We will glady help liase with any converters and offer transportation at the going rate which is genrally £1.50 a mile + VAT
Website Accuracy
Things may change and errors may occur after information is placed on our website. We check regularly to see if we need to update or correct any information or prices. If there are any significant information changes or we find any mistakes, we will put updated details on our website so you will receive the latest information. There is a report listing button on every vehicle to alert us to any errors that you may find. Whilst every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of all information and prices displayed on this website, regrettably errors may occasionally occur.
Prices
The prices you may have seen on our website or e-mail, are not live. Although prices and availability are updated very regularly, vans are subject to availability and prices can change at any time. More popular vehicles are updated more often. When you make a search on our website for a specific van deal on our website will then check the live availability and price, therefore please allow for changes to occur before your final price is confirmed. Credit card charges may apply. Deals vary subject to status as we use many lenders as each customer has unique circumstances. Balloons can also vary, changing the monthly figure.
Phonecalls
We record all phone calls . We use information for training and fraud prevention. We also check companies house and Experian in order to filter out applicants with adverse credit histories.

All main land deliveries are free unless we tell you otherwise. If you are separated from us by water the van will be delivered to nearest port. All vans are driven to you by qualified drivers. In some cases you might be able to collect from our appointed dealer by specially agreed appointment.
