Major Disruption VW Deliveries

Friday, July 9th, 2010

We warned about this a month ago.
It is here from 14/07/2010
Volkswagen are updating their vehicle tracking technology for roughly two weeks minimum as of Wednesday.
The cost is undisclosed but is thought to be approching the Ten Million Mark for the switch
which will provide more accurate delivery times and swifter distribution
This means NO VW DEALER in the UK or Europe can tax vehicles or call them off from the compound
This situation is as beyond out control as the tide in the Severn Estuary.
We ask customers be patient and polite. Literally after 14th the next deliveries will be in August.
Even if a vehicle is physically on a forecourt registration could not occur.
Renting  a van could be  the only answer if your old van has blown up or if your parents gave you your Christmas presents on Xmas Eve
and you are still in the same pattern of gratification and impatience.

Record year For Volkswagen vans

Monday, June 14th, 2010

A FAST START FOR VOLKSWAGEN COMMERCIAL VEHICLES

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is celebrating a successful start to 2010 by already winning three awards and increasing its market share by 2.4 per cent to 10.4 per cent to the end of April compared to the same period last year, with almost as many vans sold in March alone than the whole of the first quarter last year.

Less than six months since its launch in January, the new Volkswagen Transporter, with a new look and more powerful, fuel-efficient and refined Euro5 TDI engines, has already won two awards, while Volkswagen’s third award was won by its largest van model, the Crafter.

The two awards for the new Transporter, which also celebrated 60 years of production in February, are Best Medium Van in the Van Fleet World 2010 Honours, and as the Standard Panel Van category winner in the iVan Awards 2010.

Van Fleet World magazine’s judging panel included an assessment of maintenance costs and reliability and residual value data for the new Transporter.  The magazine’s editor, John Kendall, concluded: ‘A good van before and now even better after the extensive revisions.  A fine range of engines, great build quality and better to drive than before.  The latest Volkswagen Transporter has a lot going for it.’

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles was also pleased to receive a second award in the Van Fleet World 2010 honours when for the fourth year running the Volkswagen Crafter was awarded the title of Best Large Van.

Commenting on the Crafter’s record achievement, Editor John Kendall said: ‘The Crafter has taken this award for the last few years and now with Euro5 engines out in the past year, it does much to consolidate the van’s position.  The Crafter range has much to offer on all counts.  Not surprisingly, they have become firm fleet favourites.’

Simon Elliott, Director, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles said: ‘We are really pleased that the new Transporter is already proving to be so highly valued by both the fleet experts judging these awards, and our customers – and for the Crafter to win Best Large Van for the fourth year running proves that it’s hard to beat.’

LEICESTER VAN USERS TO BENEFIT FROM NEW VOLKSWAGEN VAN CENTRE

Van drivers in Leicestershire now have the benefit of a new Volkswagen Van Centre offering sales of new and used Volkswagen vans and people carriers, an aftersales service selling parts for all Volkswagen Group vehicles, plus servicing and MOT facilities.

The new Van Centre was officially opened last month and shares a city centre location with the Volkswagen passenger car showroom on Saint Margarets Way, Leicester.  It has its own 170 m² showroom, big enough to display three vehicles, plus four service bays available in the workshop.  Bodyshop repairs are also offered via a separate workshop on an alternative site.

Sean Booth, Managing Director of the new centre said: ‘Leicester is a busy city with plenty of van drivers and businesses, so we are expecting our new Van Centre to be very popular both for servicing and sales of new and used vehicles.’

Simon Elliott, Director of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles commented: ‘It is always a pleasure to open a prestigious new Van Centre, especially here in Leicester as it expands our nationwide network to cover a new area and offers Volkswagen standards of service to more customers.  We’re sure this new Van Centre will quickly be very popular and prove to be a big success.’

The new Volkswagen Van Centre (Leicester) can be contacted on 0116 214 8888.

Full details of the range of new vans, people carriers and conversions from Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, as well as current used vehicles in stock at the Van Centre, are available from www.volkswagen-vans.co.uk/van-centres/leicester.
